Heisman favorites Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa and Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence aside, the PAC-12 is once again the Quarterback Conference of the nation with eight starting QB’s returning including Sporting News No. 21 QB overall Kahlil Tate-the former greatest show on turf-who, under a new head coach and offensive coordinator at Arizona last year threw for 2,530 yards, 26 TD’s, and 8 picks.
At No. 19 Jacob Eason, who sat out a year after playing a full season in the SEC at Georgia and transferring to Washington, may just run the board for the Huskies with an outside chance of competing for the Heisman himself.
At No. 15 on the list is K. J. Costello of Stanford who passed for 3,540 yards, 29 touchdowns and 11 interceptions last year. With Bryce Love gone Stanford’s fate may depend on Costello staying healthy, getting a quick start at home against a very good Northwestern team, and winning a couple of tough games on the road at altitude.
At No. 4 on Sporting News list of Top 25 QB’s sits Oregon’s Justin Herbert who decided to bypass the NFL Draft for one more year with the Ducks, last year throwing for 3,151 yards, 29 TD’s and only 8 interceptions. A quick start on the road against a Top 20 Auburn team could set the Ducks up to be the only slim shot the PAC-12 has this year of advancing to the college football playoff.
Also returning to start at the QB spot for the PAC-12 are Utah’s Tyler Huntley, Colorado’s Steven Montez, JT Daniels for USC, Dorian Thompson-Robinson who started 7 games for UCLA last year, Chase Garbers for CAL, and Jake Luton for Oregon State. Gage Gubrud transfers in from Eastern Washington to lead the Air Raid offense for Washington State with Jayden Daniels, the top-rated quarterback in California in the class of ’19, the projected starter for Arizona State.
Hi! This post could not be written any better! Reading this post reminds me of my old room mate! He always kept chatting about this. I will forward this write-up to him. Fairly certain he will have a good read. Thank you for sharing!
