Seems like we just got started and it’s already coming to an end, but we have some great football to look forward to as the playoff field for the national championship will be decided this weekend. With Colorado’s unexpected and undefeated season to win the PAC-12 South over after this past weekend’s defeat to Utah, USC will be meeting Oregon in the PAC-12 Conference Championship Game this coming Friday, December 18th, at 5:00pm on FOX. Washington was scheduled to represent the PAC-12 North but couldn’t due to the inability of the Huskies to meet the minimum number of required scholarship student-athletes available to play. As the result of positive COVID-19 tested individuals and the resulting mandatory isolation of others, under the conference policy the team with the next best record in the division will represent the North.
As far as the Power 5 Conferences go, in addition to the PAC-12 game above the SEC Conference Championship between No. 1 Alabama and No. 6 Florida will be played the following day, on Saturday at 5:00pm on CBS. No. 2 Notre Dame will take on No. 3 Clemson in what well may be the best game of the day in the ACC Championship at 1:00pm on ABC. The Big 10 will pit No. 4 Ohio State against No. 14 Northwestern at 9:00am on FOX, while the Big 12 has No. 7 Iowa State taking on No. 11 Oklahoma at 9:00am on ABC. In between all that, at noon don’t forget to tune in to CBSSN to watch Air Force take on Army. With a win over the Black Knights, the Falcons will claim the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy for the 21st time, the most of any team in the series.
College Football Television Schedule: This week’s lineup will contain all PAC-12 games, all Conference Championship games, as well as a few specific games that I know folks who get this are interested in. (Times listed are PT with PAC-12 games, Top 25 games, and Service Academy games bolded.)
