On July 15th Shelton Walker published a story for Hightop Sports entitled; “The Ten Biggest NIL [Name, Image, Likeness] Spenders in College Football for 2025.” As he writes; “In the wild world of NIL talent doesn’t just get recruited… it gets funded. And heading into the 2025 season, some programs are writing monster checks to stay competitive. From billionaire-backed rebuilds to million-dollar quarterbacks skipping the NFL for one more payday, we’re breaking down the Top 10 biggest spenders in college football.” There are a couple of our heritage PAC-12 teams on the list, so check out that article here . . . https://hightopsport.com/the-10-biggest-nil-spenders-in-college-football-for-2025/#google_vignette

The lead college football analyst for Fox Sports, Joel Klatt, has put together his list of the Top 10 college football QB’s in 2025. No. 4 on that list is Arizona State’s Sam Leavitt who returns along with his top target—WR Jordyn Tyson—who had well over 1,000 receiving yards last year. But seemingly impossible-to-stop RB Cam Skattebo—now playing for the NY Giants in the NFL—had a lot to do with their success. Head Coach Kenny Dillingham will need to find a way to replace his production out in Tempe if they are hoping to repeat as Big-12 Champions this year. There are over 130 FBS college football programs in the NCAA and of those only 56 are returning their head coach, as well offensive and defensive coordinators from last year. As far as the heritage PAC-12 schools go there were two head coaching changes. Stanford’s Troy Taylor has been replaced by Frank Reich while Jimmy Rogers has taken over for Jake Dickert at Washington State. Of course you’ve all probably heard about the great Bill Belichick assuming that role at the University of North Carolina. For those Fresno State fans who get this blog Matt Entz, former head coach of North Dakota State where he lead his teams to three national title games—winning two—has become the new head coach of the Bulldogs after spending last year coaching USC linebackers and acting as a consultant for Lincoln Riley. Entz follows a long line of very talented and successful head coaches at Fresno State including the great Pat Hill, Jeff Tedford—head coach of Cal for 10 years including those in which Aaron Rodgers and Marshawn Lynch played—and more recently Kalen DeBoer who coached Washington to a national title game and then took over the reigns at Alabama after the retirement of Nick Saban, Over half of our heritage PAC-12 teams changed out their offensive coordinators from last year while three changed out their defensive coordinators as well.
