2022 PAC-12 Week-3 Colorado at Minnesota

No surprise here. The only points the Buffaloes were able to put up consisted of a TD pass from Sophomore QB J.T. Shrout to Freshman TE Austin Smith about mid-way through the 4th Qtr after Minnesota had pulled their starters. The Golden Gophers were up 14-0 at the end of the 1st Qtr, added 21 more to lead 35-0 at the break, and another 14 by the end of the game for a 49-7 beatdown of by far the worst team in the PAC-12.

Minnesota led the Buffaloes in 1st Downs, 29-14; Passing Yards, 166-90; Rushing Yards, 334-136; Third Down Efficiency, 87%-to-8%; and Time of Possession, 36 minutes to 24 minutes. Gopher Senior QB Tanner Morgan connected on 11-of-16 for 157 yards, 3 TD’s and 1 pick.  Senior RB Mohamed Ibrahim dominated the Minnesota running game rushing 23 times for 202 yards and 3 TD’s.

As the AP Takeaway for ESPN noted in their recap; “Colorado’s offensive struggles continue. The Buffaloes have averaged 10 points through three games and have yet to score two touchdowns in a game.” Colorado heads back home to host UCLA next week in the first PAC-12 Conference game for both.  Should be UCLA’s easiest game of their first four before they’ll face a tough test at home against a resurgent Washington Husky team.
