The college football regular season officially ends tomorrow on Saturday, December 11th, at noon on CBS as Army takes on Navy for the 122nd time in this classic rivalry. Navy dominated the series for fourteen years straight between 2002 and 2015, but Army has won the last three out of four. It’s expected to be a close one with the defenses taking center stage. The Army has had a very good season at 8-3 while Navy has struggled, although recently beating Temple 38-14. The Midshipmen lead in the series with a record of 61-53-7 all time. With Army beating Air Foce in overtime 21-14 in early November, a win against the Navy will ensure that they win this year’s Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy outright. However as explained on the American Legion website; “With its win [over Air Force], Army earned the right to retain possession of the Commander-In-Chief’s Trophy. If the Black Knights win the Army-Navy game on Dec. 11, they will win the trophy outright. If Navy, wins, all three teams will have won one game this year and in a three-way tie the possession of the trophy goes to the team that won it last (Army in 2020).” As always, should be a good one.
I know it seems as though the college football season went really quickly but have no fear about suddenly having no games to watch. You won’t have to go cold turkey as there are 44 bowl games spread out over 25 days beginning Friday, December 17th to help you slowly withdraw and prepare for the long wait until next year. Included are the college football playoff semi-finals on Friday, December 31st, taking place this year between No. 4 Cincinnati and No. 1 Alabama in the Cotton Bowl and No. 3 Georgia and No. 2 Michigan in the Orange Bowl. The very next day is the grand daddy of them all, the Rose Bowl, in what should be a classic match-up between Ohio State and Kyle Whittingham’s Utah team who finally got over the hump this year in winning the PAC-12 Conference Championship in a convincing 38-10 victory over Oregon. Then on January 10th, at 8:00pm on ESPN the winners of the Cotton Bowl and Orange Bowl will meet up to determine this season’s College Football National Champion.
College Football Television Schedule: This will contain all scheduled bowl games as well as regular season games not yet played. The date, bowl name, teams competing, time and network are provided. (Note: Service Academy head-to-head, CFP Semi-Final and Final, and any bowl game where a PAC-12 team is playing will be bolded.)
